A range of summer clothing, and also some light jerseys, long pants and jackets as it can get cool in the evening. Dining in New Zealand is a relaxed affair, especially in the tourist destinations we’ll be visiting, so formal attire is not required.
You are welcome to bring your own bike. We also encourage customers to bring their own shoes and pedals and helmets. You may want to bring your favourite saddle (seat) too!
Our luxury minivan will provide transfers between accommodations and you may accompany the riding pack as a spectator as often as you like. Taxis and/or courtesy vans are available at our selected accommodation should you wish to engage in other activities such as sight seeing, shopping, golf, cruises and so forth. There are local experts at each accommodation venue to help you with activity selection and bookings.
Our featured trips are not suitable for children under 15 years of age. If a family holiday is important then contact us for either a private or customised tour. We do not have cycling equipment or kit for children under the age of 15 so they will have to accompany you as non-cycling participants

The routes have been designed to reveal the scenic beauty of the region and to provide variability to your riding. They have also been selected to ensure your safety. We specifically use back-roads with low traffic volumes and fewer intersections and other hazards.
We provide riding kit to our customers, not just because it’s stylish and comfortable, but because it is highly visible.
A luxury mini van follows the group offering support, and signals to other road users that there are cyclists about; while our Road Captain rides with you in the pack pointing out highlights, offering commentary and giving directions.
Our bikes and cycling equipment is less than 1 year old, well maintained and checked every day.
Our guides are all qualified in first aid.
Our featured tours are designed with the "athletic beginner" in mind; someone with moderate fitness, who is open to some physical challenge. The rides are between 40 and 60 km (25 – 35 miles) per day, or 1.5 to 2.5 hours in duration. The routes specifically use back-roads with low traffic volumes, fewer intersections and other hazards.
Many of our customers are cycling beginners relishing the opportunity to ride without traffic rushing by, though most are enthusiasts looking for enjoyable, social rides in beautiful, new terrain.
Each day we have interesting or challenging diversions en-route, which we’ll point out, or additional routes for those seeking a longer ride.
We recommend either cycling, on the road or in the gym, for about 1 hour; or running for approximately 30 minutes as good preparation for a tour. You should aim to do this a minimum of 2 or 3 times a week for the month preceding a tour.
No. We base ourselves in one place for several days allowing you to enjoy the best cycling, food and wine in that region. No getting up every morning and moving on. There's less time packing and more time to indulge and relax.
Yes. We will carry all luggage in either the van or covered trailer between accommodation venues. We will also transport any small purchases you make along the way. It's also worth remembering that we base ourselves in one place for several days allowing to enjoy the best cycling, food and wine in that region. No getting up every morning and moving on. Many of our hotels do have pools. Some have spa facilities for massage treatments.
We run he majority of our New Zealand tours during the Spring and Summer months: November to April. January and February are our busiest months.
We do operate during the cooler winter period, April – October, but these are on-demand.

The answer is Yes - but it is completely up to you. The only time we would cancel a ride is if we thought the conditions would put riders safety at risk. At all other times you decide wehter you wanat to ride, and for how long. The support van is always on hand for air-conditioned comfort and shelter.
